Canada's Source for MgO

What is MgO?

Picture

Magnesium Oxide (MgO) is an inorganic mineral compound made from calcined magnesium. When combined with magnesium sulphate and reinforced with fiberglass mesh and natural fibres, it forms a strong, stable, non-combustible cement board.

Unlike gypsum, drywall or cement products, MgO panels are:
  • Non-combustible, They won't burn, drip, or release toxic gasses or fumes.
  • Water-resistant, no warping, swelling, or degrading when exposed to moisture.
  • Mold-resistant, They don’t support fungal or microbial growth.
  • High-strength, offering excellent impact resistance and structural stability.
MgO boards are used as an alternative to traditional gypsum, plywood, OSB, or cement board in both interior and exterior wall assemblies.

They’re ideal for projects that need
code-compliant fire protection, durability, and speed of installation—without sacrificing environmental performance or long-term reliability!
